Padi Kolam - Tamil New Year!
Padi Kolam - Tamil New Year!
Tamil New Year is called as Puthandu. It is celebrated on the first day of Chitharai Masam (Tamil month)
I have shared a padi kolam with four lines in all the four sides to form a square. We can expand our mana kolam with our imaginations like drawing curves, lotus, circles according to our creativity.
With the touch of 'Kaavi' the beauty of Kolam is enhanced. Without kaavi padi kolam is incomplete.
Please do provide comments.
Thank you!☺

Colourful Nallu Moolai Kolam - Karadaiyar Nombu
Nallu Moolai Kolam - Karadaiyar Nombu!
Karadaiyar Nombu is an important festival of Tamil Nadu. It is a festival, where married women pray for well-being for long life of their husbands.
According to the tradition, Nombu will be performed exactly at the time when Tamil month of Massi ends and following month of Panguni starts.
The story behind this fasting, is that Sathi Savitri fought with Yaman to save her husband's life on this day. Similarly married women do fasting on this auspicious day for the long life of their husband.
The prayer " Urugadha Vennayam Oru Adayum Vaithu Nombu Notren Oru Nallum En Kanavar Piriyamal Iruka Vendum ".
