Margazhi maasam (Tamil month of December and January) when we try our notebook kolams and rangolis, with different colour combos. This kolam is from my notebook... easy and simple rangoli decorated with diyas.

Shiva Lingam Kolam - Arudra Darashanam!

Today I am sharing Shiva Lingam Kolam with dots and purple colour background. This is a simple and easy kolam.
'Arudhra Darashanam' is one of the important festival celebrated in Tamilnadu. It is said that cosmic dance form was originated on this day which we celebrate as 'Thiruvatherai' or 'Arudra Darashanam'.

   Chidambaram one of the district in Tamilnadu,  is a Pancha Bhootam Sthalam... which represents Space (Akasham). Lord Shiva is in form of Lord Thillai Natraja. 'Nat' means Dance and 'Raja' means King.....Lord Nataraja's dance form is called as 'Thandavam'.
It is said that Chidambaram is at the centre of world's magnetic equator. 

On this day special Pooja's and Abishekam's are done to Lord Nataraja and Thiruvatherai Kali is offered and distributed as prasadam.
