Pookolam

Pookolam - Onam Special!
Onam is a Indian 'Hindu' festival, celebrated in the State of Kerala.  It is celebrated in the first month of Malayalam Calendar (Chingam Masam).

A ten day celebrations, with Pookolam, onam Sadya, dance, boat race etc....

This festival is mainly celebrated....as a homecoming of King Mahabali. For ten days, they draw Pookolam with fresh and colourful flowers. Designs for Pookolam can be square, round... with freehand...

Today I'm sharing a simple Pookolam in square shape with five colours...and diya or Vellaku in the centre.
Hope you all like it.

Pot Decoration

This Pot Decoration was done by my daughter, using Multani Mitti and Fevicol. She mixed Multani Mitti and Fevicol to make petals for the roses and painted it with acrylic colours. Thanks to her painting teacher Meena Saraogi!
