Padi Kolam
A Padi Kolam with wet rice flour. Today is Thai Velli and SankashtiChathurthi.
Bhakti Ganapati is one of the Ganapati in 32 forms of Lord Ganesha. He is pure white in colour, shines lika a full Moon. He is depicted as Chaturbuja (with four arms) holding mango, coconut, a cup with Payasam and banana. Those who worship Bhakti Ganapati will be blessed with happiness and prosperity.

This is a day of prayer's and penance to Lord Muruga. On this day Goddess Parvati gave 'Vel' or Spear so that he could vanquish demon Soorapadman.

Happy Pongal to all!
Majority of Indian festival's are inclined towards nature and agricultural. Special significance to Hindu Mythology and considered auspicious. Farmers worship the Sun Lord, Mother Earth, Cows, etc on this auspicious day, A Harvest festival.
A simple Sikku Pot kolam is created by me with 5-3 dots. Decorated with Shikku Villaku / diyas.

Let us all pray to Lord Vishu on this day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi. It is believed that 'Gates of Heaven' / Vaikuntha Vaasal are open. It is also believed that encircling the temple is known as VAIKUNTHA VAASAL.
