Tricolour Kolam
A very easy and simple dots kolam for Republic day. A beautiful tricolour kolam for this Republic Day....as we can draw, lotus, tricolour flags, peacock, swan, flowers etc on occasion for this day. Republic Day in India is celebrated on 26th January of every year, on this day written form of Indian Constitution was  submitted in the year 1950.
I'M sharing a 9-5 dots kolam, with tricolour's in it.

Rathasapthami Kolam

Radhasapthami Kolam
'Radhasapthami' is a Hindu festival, which is celebrated on the Seventh day of 'Thai Maasam' of Tamil Calendar.

On this day 'Surya Bhagwan' or 'Sun God' turns his chariot with seven horses towards north hemisphere or north east direction.
I am sharing a dots kolam, which is called as 'Ther Kolam'.
The dots and strokes are in pictures given below:
11-2 dots - from bottom (straight dots)


13-2 dots - increase the dots from below
17-2 dots - straight dots 
15-1 dots - Straight dots
3-5 - dots - to form the middle portion
19-1 - straight dots
17-1- straight dots
13- 3- straight dots
9-2 - straight dots
6-2 dots, 4-1, 3-1, 1-1, again 7 dots on the top.

Simple Nallu Moolai Kolam
A very simple and easy Freehand / Nallu Moolai Kolam for Thai Velli. 'Thai Velli' is Thai is Tamil Month and Velli is Friday... Four Thai Velli / Friday is very auspicious, in Tamil Nadu. We clean the 'Vasal' or Entrance of the house, put kolam with wet rice flour or dry rice flour, with borders in  Kaavi, which beautiful's the kolam. As 'Thai Velli' is auspicious, because goddess are worshipped for prosperity and well being.

I am sharing a very simple Nallu Moolai Kolam for this Thai Velli, as you can draw this Kolam, even on a small place.

Nallu Moolai / Freehand Kolam - Bogi Special

Nallu Moolai Kolam
A very easy and simple Nallu Moolai Kolam or Freehand Kolam for 'Bogi Pandigai'. Pandigai means festival in Tamil Nadu.
A four day celebration of 'Pongal Pandigai' or festival. Festival starts from 'Bogi' which is the first day...on this day, house are cleaned, 'Mavilai Thoranam' is decorated on the entrance of the house.
Padi or freehand Kolam or rangoli is drawn.
In every Iyer or Iyengar family, Padi or Maa Kolam is drawn, with a bright touch of kaavi, which enhances the beauty.

I am sharing a very easy and simple Nallu Moolai Kolam with a touch of kaavi and in the centre a very simple dots or suzhi kolam,with a touch of kaavi. Decorated my kolam with diyas.

Dots Kolam - Margazhi Special

Dots / Pulli Kolam
A very easy and simple dots kolam for today being a Margazhi.... which can be drawn in an apartment.

Dots:


 10 dots - 4 sides to make a Square.
6-1 - straight dots inside the Square 4 sides.
4-1 dots inside the Square 4 sides.
2-1 dots inside the Square  4 sides.
4 dots in the centre.

I have decorated with green colour as an outline, and kept Diyas.

Krishnar Kolam - Margazhi Special

Krishnar Kolam - Margazhi Special

I call this Kolam as 'Krishnar Kolam'.
This is drawn using 341 dots all together.
Use can first start with 31 dots vertically.
In the 16th dot, horizontally add 15 dots on both sides, and can refer my Kolam for further details.
I have given a blue outline, and kept Diyas to decorate my kolam.
The smaller version of this Kolam is drawn using 7-1 straight dots.
A very easy and fantastic Kolam for Margazhi.

I liked this free hand Rangoli, which is done by Radha Ramakrishnan ma'am. I saw this kolam in Kolam Enthusiasts group.... She used Maa Kolam to draw this particular design....but I wanted to give colour's to this kolam. I have used bright colours, and decorated it with Diyas.

Padi Kolam - Thiruvatherai Special
A very simple and easy Padi Kolam for Thiruvatherai.
Thiruvatherai is a Hindu festival, which is celebrated in Tamil Nadu and Kerela. In the month of Margazhi or Dhanur masam, Thiruvatherai Natshataram.... which is popularly known as 'Arudhra Drashanam'. 'Thiruvatherai' means 'a sacred wave', which is created by Lord Siva. It is a women's festival.  On this day Thiruvatherai Kali and Ezhi than Kuzhambu / 7 Curry Kootu is prepared and offered to Lord Siva.
