Padi Kolam

Padi Kolam
In Indian Culture we draw kolam or rangoli for festival's. Today I'm sharing a Padi Kolam for 'Varmahalakshmi or 'Varamahalakshmi Nombu' which is celebrated in South India. Mainly in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

'Varamahalaksmi Vritam' or 'Vrat'or 'Nombu'  is celebrated by married women or Sumangali. It is believed that worshipping Varamahalaksmi gives, boon or Vara to the family.

Worshipping Varamahalaksmi Vrat is equivalent to worship 'Ashtalakshmi' or eight goddess such as... goddess of Wealth, Earth, Love, Wisdom, Peace, Fame, Pleasure and Strength.
I'm sharing a Padi Kolam with stripes with atouch of 'kaavi'. Hope you all like it!
