Simple Padi Kolam for this year's last Aadi Velli. Aadi is the Tamil month and velli means  Friday. We draw padi Kolam for Aadi Velli (Friday), this is a simple Padi Kolam with a touch of kaavi / kempu powder.

Padi Kolam is a traditional Kolam drawn for special functions or occasions. This can be drawn with normal rice flour / wet rice flour. Today's I'm sharing a wet rice flour padi kolam with a touch of kaavi. Hope you all like it!

Padi Kolam (AadiPeruku)

AadiPeruku means 18th day of Aadi Maasum. This is to celebrate the water rising levels of all major  rivers, lakes and water sources of Tamilnadu to onset the monsoon.

A Padi Kolam with pinnal/ braided design with a touch of kaavi/ kempu powder.

I'm happy to share this Padi Kolam with wet rice flour for 'Varamahalakshmi Pooja'. The strokes, cuves, design all depends upon your creativity. Borders we draw with kaavi/ kempu powder which is mixed with little water and used to draw strokes. Hope you all like it.

Rangoli / Wet Rice Flour Kolam

Happy Guru Purnima!

I'm happy to share this wet rice flour kolam / rangoli for Guru Purnima. For wet rice flour kolam we need to soak raw rice for 2 hrs. Grind to a smooth paste by adding little water. Add some more water to get a nice flowing consistency. With a small cotton dip in wet rice flour and squeeze slightly and start drawing your Rangoli.

Quasi-Kolam is something seems to be similar but it is not...somewhat similar. I am sharing two kolams with same set of dots...Eg 15-1 straight dots.

This was a task given to all the members by a kolam group creator / admin in facebook. Dots were given and we have to draw a line kolam & sikku kolam with own imagination.
