Freehand Maa Kolam!

Today being an Aadi Chevai (Tuesday), I am sharing a Maa Kolam or wet rice flour kolam or rangoli. This rangoli is drawn with 8 striped to form a circle, then you can create curves, motif or lines, dots to extend your imagination. I have given a touch of kaavi or red colour, which is very important for any maa kolam.
This is very simple rangoli, which can be drawn on Chinna Vasal or small entrance or for an apartment.

Dots Rangoli!

Rangoli!
Today I am sharing, 15 dots rangoli which is from a kolam notebook. This is very simple and easy to draw.....this particular rangoli can be drawn for rangoli competition, any grand functions, marghazi masum......

With all bright colours I have drawn this rangoli.
Steps and instructions:
Dots - 15-3 straight dots.

Padi Kolam - Aadi Pandigai Special!

Padi Kolam is one of the most important thing for any function in Iyer or Iyengar tradition. Today being a Aadi Velli, I am sharing a Maa Kolam (wet rice flour)... which is generally drawn for small functions such as Sumangali Prathanai, Aadi Velli, Aadi Chevai, Aadi Pooram, Deepavali, Navaratri etc....
We draw this kolam with four lines, to make it a square...and expand the kolam with our creative ideas such as lotus motif, or curves, dots. We also draw Kaavi as borders.

Padi Kolam - Aadi Masum!

Aadi means Ashada (month), Aadi is the forth month in Tamil calendar. Aadi starts from mid of July - mid of August. The first day of Aadi is celebrated by drawing a Padi Kolam with a touch of 'Kaavi'.
Padi Kolam are drawn for Aadi Chevai (Tuesdays), Aadi Velli (Fridays), Aadi Krithikai, Aadi Pooram, Aadi Peeruku(18 day of Aadi)...

We Iyer and Iyengar draw this Padi Kolam for Aadi.... today I am sharing my simple Padi Kolam with a touch of kaavi.

Simple Rangoli!
A very easy and simple rangoli or dots kolam, which can be drawn in apartments, even if we have space constraint. Even begginer's can try this dots kolam.

Rangoli - Soup Cup!

Today I am sharing a rangoli in form of 'Soup Cup'. I have used dots to form this design.

I found this particular rangoli, in my kolam notebook long back.... I have made slight changes in dots and lines to for this design and used bright Orange and Green colours.

Dots and instructions:

I have used  7-8 dots (straight dots)

Row -7 dots 

Collum - 8 dots
