Round Suzhi Kolam

Round Suzhi Kolam
I would like to share this Round Suzhi Kolam for Chithra Pornami. Chitra Pournami means Chitarai is the Tamil month and Pournami means Poornima or full moon day. 

On this day, we have our dinner with family and friends on an open terrace or on our lawn, with bright moon light or  Moon Light Dinner.

Zentangle Kolam

Zentangle Kolam
One of the most interesting, art work, is Zentangle. Without any restrictions, you can create, freehand designs with repetitive patterns. I love Kolam and Rangoli, always want to share a simple Kolam, so that begginer's can try.

This Zentangle Kolam, I have drawn in my workplace and used rice flour or kolam podi to draw the design.
I have used four circles and semi circles.
With strokes, stripes, checks, etc....

Freehand Zentangle Kolam

Zentangle Kolam

Zentangle means an art work, which includes freehand design with repetitive patterns. We can start by a freehand pattern, which is filled with, curves, lines, checks, dots, flower motif etc.

But today I have incorporated Zentangle in my Kolam... I am sharing an easy round Zentangle. Gendrally Zentangle is drawn on a paper, with black pen....but today, for paper I used my workspace (which is black) and for pen I am using rice flour or Kolam Podi (which is white in colour).

In my Zentangle kolam, I have drawn a mango motif filled with repetitive patterns.

Pumpkin Dots Kolam

Pumpkin Dots Kolam
In rangoli or kolam, flowers, motifs, curves play a major part... similarly sweets, fruits and vegetables also play a very important place.

We might have come seen brinjal kolam, pahakai or bitter guard kolam, but today I am sharing my favourite vegetable Pumpkin Kolam using 7-7 dots and I have used bright colours.
